Supporting Families of the Fallen

Behind every fallen soldier stands a family whose world has shattered. A widow learning to raise children alone. Parents who will never see their son walk through the door again. Children asking when Abba is coming home. Smiles for the Kids stands with these families long after the shiva ends and the world moves on.

The Weight of Loss

When a soldier falls defending Israel, the immediate crisis passes but the daily struggle begins. Widows face overwhelming financial pressure while navigating grief. Children need therapy, tutoring, and activities their remaining parent cannot always provide. Parents of fallen soldiers battle isolation as friends struggle to find the right words.

Since October 7, 2023, we’ve supported dozens of families who paid the ultimate price for Israel’s security. Our founder, an IDF reservist who has lost brothers in arms, knows that true support means showing up month after month, year after year.

Ongoing Family Support

We provide monthly gift cards to families, ensuring they can cover everyday expenses without added financial stress during their grief. One family receives ongoing support for their baby born just one month after his father fell in Gaza, making sure this child lacks nothing despite growing up without his father. We’ve organized special events bringing together families and widows of fallen soldiers, including meaningful Yom Haatzmaut gatherings that honor memory while building community among those who understand this unique pain.

Our support includes funding therapy for widows processing trauma while raising grieving children, educational support for children struggling after loss, and emergency assistance for unexpected expenses that overwhelm already strained budgets. Each family receives personalized support based on their specific circumstances and needs.
