I posted a fundraiser asking for tactical helmets for my reserve unit going to Gaza. Within 24 hours, the comments had over 5,000 messages of hate, death threats, and antisemitism.
Our reserve unit, Alog 99 of the 99th Battalion, received deployment orders for several months of active service near the Gaza border. The unit needs 30 ballistic-rated tactical helmets. The kind that stops a fragment instead of a son.
What followed was something I have never seen at that scale. Death threats. Wishes for my children. Slurs I will not repeat here. Graphic descriptions of what people wanted done to soldiers they had never met. I screenshot every one. We are not deleting them. We are documenting them. And every threat becomes a dollar toward protecting the unit those messages targeted.
