In times of uncertainty and crisis, the people of Israel need more than just words—they need action. That’s why Smiles for the Kids is launching the “18 for Israel” campaign—a grassroots effort with a powerful goal: to bring hope, healing, and practical support to children and families across Israel who are facing hardship.

What Is “18 for Israel”?
Inspired by the Hebrew word chai, which means life and has a numerical value of 18, this campaign asks one simple thing:
Will you give $18 to support a family in Israel?
Our goal is to unite 1,800 people each giving just $18. This small act of generosity can make a life-changing impact for families who have been displaced, are living in poverty, or are dealing with trauma from ongoing conflict and instability.
This is your chance to donate to Israel in a meaningful, practical way—helping us deliver food, therapy, educational support, and joy to those who need it most.
Why Your $18 Matters
You may be wondering: How much difference can $18 really make?
When combined with the generosity of others, your $18 becomes part of something much bigger. It becomes:
- A grocery card for a struggling family
- A holiday package that brings smiles to children who’ve known too much sadness
- A session of trauma support for a child in distress
- A contribution to a Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration for a teen whose family can’t afford one

And perhaps most importantly—it allows us to respond quickly to urgent, unexpected needs, including:
- Evacuees from forest fires near Jerusalem who are suddenly displaced and in need of supplies
- Soldiers with damaged or broken equipment, needing quick support while on the frontlines
- Families dealing with a sudden health crisis, where a helping hand can mean stability during chaos
Your $18 helps ensure we never have to say “we can’t help right now.” It gives us the flexibility and readiness to act fast—and to do good, exactly when it’s needed most.
